for contactless speed control
A trouble-free cable feed to the processing machine is the basic prerequisite for achieving high length accuracy at a high processing speed. In conjunction with a feeding device or an unwinding plate, Metzner sag controls provide contact-free speed control. In off-line operation, sag controls regulate the speed of a motorised coil unwinder or material feed device, and in in-line operation they regulate the working speed of the processing machine. Intelligent sensors permanently record the position of the material passing through. With this information, the optimum speed is determined and passed on to the feeding devices or machine.
Matched to the cable being processed, Metzner offers sag control systems with non-contact control for very thin or slammed cables or alternatively with a weight roller for solid cables. All Metzner processing machines are equipped with interfaces for the integration of sag controls as standard.
VARIANTS
Loop control for contactless speed regulation with a material passage width of max. 50 mm.
Sag control for contactless speed regulation via three sensors with a material passage width of max. 220 mm.

IN-LINE AND OFF-LINE OPERATION
The Metzner loop controls can be operated either in-line or off-line.

The loop controls are available in material widths from 50 mm to 220 mm.
SWITCH-OFF POSITION INDIVIDUALLY ADJUSTABLE
The upper and lower switch-off positions of the loop control can be set individually via a teach-in function.
HIGH LENGTH PRECISION
The loop control ensures a constant and tension-free material supply to the cutting machine and thus achieves high length accuracy of the cutting results.
