With the new ful­ly auto­ma­ted plat­form for high-vol­ta­ge cable assem­bly, Metz­ner is set­ting new stan­dards in modern manu­fac­tu­ring tech­no­lo­gy. What pre­vious­ly requi­red sepa­ra­te pro­ces­sing steps has now been trans­for­med into a con­ti­nuous, intel­li­gent­ly net­work­ed pro­duc­tion line. The sys­tem auto­ma­tes every step – from cable fed from the reel to the ful­ly assem­bled HV con­nec­tor system.

The paten­ted cable car­ri­er sys­tem ensu­res pre­cise gui­dance of sin­gle-core cables and is also sui­ta­ble for cables with pre-assem­bled com­pon­ents. A ser­vo line­ar sys­tem pro­vi­des auto­ma­tic and high­ly dyna­mic trans­port of the cable car­ri­ers bet­ween the indi­vi­du­al sta­ti­ons. Bet­ween 10 and 25 con­se­cu­ti­ve pro­ces­sing and assem­bly steps can be con­fi­gu­red fle­xi­bly, allo­wing the sys­tem to be tail­o­red to a wide ran­ge of pro­duc­tion requirements.

By com­bi­ning sta­te-of-the-art tools for HV cable pro­ces­sing, all tasks pre­vious­ly car­ri­ed out manu­al­ly are now relia­bly auto­ma­ted: strip­ping, cut­ting, crim­ping, pres­sing, assembling, and test­ing. The result is con­sis­t­ent­ly high pro­cess qua­li­ty with maxi­mum effi­ci­en­cy. With a cycle time of less than 15 seconds for two cable ends, the sys­tem meets the hig­hest demands for speed, pre­cis­i­on, and cost-effectiveness.
